In accordance with Article 74 of Law on Amendment of the Aviation Act, the Civil Aviation Administration continued its functions under the name of Civil Aviation Agency (CAA). The use of the new name has started on 27.03.2007.
The provision of safe conduct of civil aviation is the fundamental responsibility of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), meaning:
- Complete ANS services,
- Provision of meteorological safety for aviation,
- Investigation of the treats to aviation safety, operations related to search and rescue missions, inspection oversight of civil aviation, construction, maintenance and registration of aircrafts, airports and airfields,
- Establishment and enhancement of cooperation on international level,
- Upgrading, research and development of projects related to civil aviation.
